Both of us have been burning the WHOLE candle on Sleeper and piles of other things. WE have a couple of projects that have made it possible for us to do Sleeper, so we are juggling them while we work on Sleeper... oh yeah and do way more than 40 hours at the day jobs.

It is a huge plus that we both work at the same place so we can obsess on and off throughout the day and on lunches.... and after work... and oh yeah... at Denny's! We haven't had much time for sleep, but you are SOOO right that we need to. Yesterday was the clincher for me when I almost bit the dust on the freeway due to nodding off. Definitely not good. I came back to work, put in my time here and cancelled my commitments for the night (more side work - 4 to 6 hours worth) and went home. My wife woke me up for dinner and I spent a little time with the kids and then went back to bed. It was AWESOME! I may do the same thing tonight. I have been averaging 3 to 4 hours a night... I can usually sustain that for 2 to 3 weeks at a time (fallout from 15 years in the gaming industry) but currently I have been doing that for the better part of 2007. So one night of more than 4 hours of sleep wont totally cut it, but it is a start.

We are trying to get a jump on post, since we had originally planned on doing it starting in May, but I think that it is a good idea to re-charge for a couple of days because May is just around the corner and then we will be back at it until the deadline at the end of May. :zombie_smiley:

Well, back to the grindstone!

:beer: Well, Mark and I decided to make the cut the length that we like instead of the 6 minute cut for the competition. What that means is we will have an amazing cut that we will ADR and score to and such, and then we will cut it down for the competition. I remember Jack Daniel Stanley mentioned how difficult it was for him to cut "Rekindled" for the competition here, and I bet it will be the same for us, but we can do it!

We have a great cut going on and have made some awesome improvements tonight, and some interesting new ideas as well to add to Sleeper.

UPDATE: We have our ADR tomorrow with the actors at Arodynamix Studios. Should be fun!:thumbup:

:banned: :2vrolijk_08: haha Just Kidding. I agree, we want to make our movie perfect after all this work. An HD version.....hmmmm. Wish it wouldn't get us disqualified, or we would love to have an HD version for the competition, but oh well. I can at least tell you this, regardless of the size of the image, or the length of the cut to get it to 6 minutes...this movie will make yopu say...."Wow! That was cool"...at least that is what we hope!:beer:

I'm going to have difficulty with the 6 minutes as well. I think a long and short version is the way to go. It will be interesting to see the films in comparison. Maybe you could make the longer one available somehow as well for everyone to see.

We will definitely have a full version available at a later date. We were hitting the creative wall and decided that it was best to make the film the way we want it and the deal with cutting and compromises after we have a cut that makes us happy. When all is said and done, we will be posting 9-10 minutes, but we know that we can do a six minute cut, but it is not as interesting as the full version for sure.

Regardless, I think that the shorter version will still be very fun to watch.

Good luck on yours. I think that making the short that you want and scoring and doing SFX for that short is a great way to go. You can then cut and tweak to your hearts desire, but that way, you know at the end of the day that you are happy with it... at least with one version of it.

This is looking soooo awsome! I can't wait to see it!!! Your screen grabs did seem to point to a longer more elaborate storyline. I was wondering how the 6 minute limit would play out. if you go long/short, I'd like to see them both too!

:dankk2:THANKS! I can't wait for the visual effects to get rocking. It already looks amazing and it is only a rough cut. I can only imagine how much more awesome it will be with the effects in...and especially the SCORE!!! Music makes the movie!

Yeah... he is way geekin out over that shot. We just watched the rough cut again... HD version... and every time we see that shot he freaks out and starts hyperventilating. Granted it is a VERY COOL SHOT, but he hasn't seen anything yet. It is our most effects intensive shot so hopefully I won't screw it up for him.

We shall see!!!

thanks Rebecca... we are pretty excited about it. I think that both versions will be nice, but I am pretty sure the HD/full version will be the preferred by all.

Whew! Well the ADR session yesterday ran into some technical hang-ups. The video we gave Mike to line the audio up to crashed his system, so by the time we got everything running smoothly and a couple of Paige's Lines recorded, we were out of time. It was frustrating but we would rather do these things right then rush it and be unhappy with the results. Paige and Shane are troopers once again, and will be coming back next week for more ADR.
