Kanguru PCMCIA external 40GB HARD DRIVE -


I bought one of these off Flea-bay for $20. Plugs right in to the P2 slot on the HVX200 - works GREAT. No problems. Drains the on board batteries more but sure is more convenient than those silly P2 cards Panasonic is shoving down our throats. Also it was said here once that HD recording is not possible on mini DV tape. That is not true. I use tape sometimes and the image is the same.

Tell us how 1080/24p looks with it.

How much footage of that can you get.

And does it import into FCP or AVID,etc?

And you are recording DVCProHD to tape with the HVX200?

Now its April 2nd . . . you missed it by day didn't you?

And no, you can NOT record HD material to the MiniDV tape in the HVX. It ONLY ONLY ONLY records SD DV to the MiniDV tape.

What a snide remark - I think you are on the crack pipe.....

Yes, HD recording onto tape is not possible with the HVX but it is with the Canon series... I realize this is the HVX forum but you can dispense with the snide remarks.

Your first post makes it sound as if your are talking about the HVX.

However, you have to admit that your original post is highly inaccurate.

For example, you cannot use the Kangura PC card and drive to record directly from the p2 slot of the HVX200. And you cannot record DVCProHD to tape on the HVX200.

You invited many of the responses you got.
 
Motionmedia, you were clearly talking about the HVX and not a Canon, and what you stated as fact makes no sense and is clearly untrue. I'm assuming it was done as a joke, and I have no doubt that Zak's comment was also not serious.

If you dish it out, be prepared to have to take some, too.
