So I finally got a chance to post this rough cut of the teaser trailer. Graphics and credits have not been done yet, and the cutting is still pretty preliminary. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks great, scharky! Colorful and menacing. And the camera work serves--as much as as I can tell from a quick teaser--to serve the story rather than just show off technique. Congrats. All done with the A1?

holly ****ing Christ! That was freaking fabulous man. I bow down to this creation. Colors, Acting, Sound, Music, Mise-en-scene, cutting, everything everything everything made me engaged and watch for more.

My most sincere congratulations on this project, it is very inspiring.

on a second note. I would love to know what you used, settings and such to achieve some beautiful looking color ( obviously has been graded, but very well done.)

what mics were used and lights?

majority shot at 1/48th?

Let me see if I can answer a few questions.

Yes it was all shot with the A1

As far as settings go, all the in camera settings were pretty neautral, Normal Gamma, -9 Master Ped, +20 Color saturation
Most of the color comes from the lighting. We used a 1200W HMI for the Sun Gelled with 3/4 CTO, we used a couple of 1ks and a 2k gelled to half CTB. we also used 2 360W flourescents were used for fill on the two men at the bar.

Color correction consisted of a slight curves adjustment and cooling off the midtones and shadows a bit.

We did shoot all in Seattle.

Seriously, I've seen people on here say after seeing a trailer, "I want to see that".
I never felt that way...but I really want to see this now. If you cut this teaser/trailer then good on ya. Excellent job.

That rawks. I agree with Stylz, I genuinely want to see that. I'm in the neighborhood, so I think I'll be signing up as your newest stalker, scharky! Will there be a local showing? Do you know when & where?

I'm sure there will be a local showing, feel free to check out the directors website as I'm sure more information will be posted there soon.

This is the first time I have shot with Eddie, and I'm really happy working with him. He has a very clear vision for what he is looking for, and that makes my job very easy. Plus he was very open to hearing my ideas and suggestions for shots, lens choices, lighting etc.

Wow, never quite had that reaction before, at least never from a film, now when I was an awkward 17 year old trying to pick up a date. . . maybe :)

Not sure about a DVD release that is completely up to edie, I can tell you that there are some future works in progress that I'll be working with him in as well, so we'll see where this goes.

editing system with A1

editing system with A1

Scharky,
what system are you editing on? I'm thinking of making the switch from dvx to the canon, but haven't figured out my workflow yet. Do you edit in native hdv or convert to something else.

thanks,

Sharky (are we related? )
