more red drive options available soon

Somebody on the RED team hinted that the RED-DRIVE may not just be an enclosure with a standard drive inside... that it may be a wholly custom storage system altogether.

I've been waiting for a release of the first,
"perpendicular magnetic recording technology"

drives for some time.

I like the low power consumption and shock numbers.
A Pair in Raid 0? or 1? 4 in an 0-1? etc.

I'm looking forward to, a somewhat high capacity flash drive. I say somewhat because, I'm trying to be realistic here. With the same characteristics as the P2 cards, far as durability and reliabiility go.

Note that this drive is only 4200 RPM.
The old Fujitsu 200GB/4200 drive is quite slow compared to other 2.5" drives.

Seek time in the press release is quite misleading, real world access time is usually around 20 MS for a 4200 RPM drive.

anders knows what he's talking about.. my fab danish after the major lars v trier and the master dreyer.. 5400 rpm could it work?.. or just at 7200?
