I have an idea...RED 4k digital cinema festival.

just thinking out loud here...With over 1,000 reds in action next year, it would great if RED could sponsor a 4k digital cinema festival showcasing some nice RED 4k projects. Perhaps 1/08 (giving enough time for projects to be completed). Features, shorts, commercials..have a schedule for one weekend. I think it would be great way to promote red as well as 4k cinema. It would make effective use of Nuart's 4k projector. I'm also sure you won't have a shortage of submissions (of course each project will be reviewed by the RED panel for quality control). As I was sitting in amazement of the RED footage, I imagined the possibility of my own future projects hitting in 4k glory.
 
you know this will become true.. Just as our DVXfest film festivals are a great sucess we will for sure have Redfests.
 
Ha! That's gonna make every one's fancy HVX's look like junk!

...God, I can imagine the download times now.

Does that mean that RED-Fests will be a separate fest? That would be good. But, then again, nobody will watch the dvx fests then :)

I'm gonna be one of the poor schmo's with that ancient piece of hardware called the HVX :(

Jason -wouldn't have it any other way though. :)
 
Any ideas when the first fest will begin Jarred? I think that perhaps as early as possible would be great in order to give alot of people a project to start shooting with the day their camera arrives, Perhaps have it May through till August - should give most people at least a month I suppose. That being said it all depends on the success of the Red team to push these out of the door. It'll be very interesting to see the standard that people can create using a camera such as this.

and cvb had a little 3d movie of the camera turning

love any movies or images red related coming out of this crowd, it breaks up the tech talk, yay for keeping an ongoing red film festival even before the camera is out

Can't wait for the first REDFest. Though, whether I'll have enough time to make something up is yet to be determined! :thumbsup:
