Red One's low light performance

I don't know if this topic has been discussed before. I'd like to hear some info regarding the Red One's performance in low light conditions. What kind of noise reduction feature will be used in the Red One?

If only...

For when those that know see this thread... was an HMI used to light the body? Or just the two candles?

From what I've seen on this board, the design philosophy of the red camera has been to get the very best possible image quality, for big screen, no-compromise images as good or better than anything now available. "Noise reduction" means throwing away image detail, and that doesn't seem to fit in with this philosophy.

I think it is fair to expect a lot from our sensor. Just make sure you keep your expectations realistic. This shot was from Frankie early on. We have learned a lot since. This week, David Stump is coming to shoot some pro green screen. Low light is after that. Then more outside in high contrast.

When all's said and done and the camera's finally shipped... will you post a picture of Frankie? I'd love to see her.

Jim, can we get behind the scenes shots of the lighting setup sans Frankie (I know that is premature at this point)? I would just like to see how Mr. Stump and his gaffer approach things. I think alot of people here would agree. Thank you in advance.

Well Brook a pony would be nice, if it is a part of the shoot. I've shot alot of green screen and there are more ways than one to skin a pony. Jarred posted behind the scene footage of the other one... Sorry, if you feel my queastion was stupid. Good luck to you.

Heheh, my quote wasn't a shot at you any more than it was a shot at myself. I was just having a little fun, I fear you misinterpreted my jest. I actually still have that very same setup picture you're referring to in the RED folder sitting on my desktop right now...
