Canon new 6x Wide-Zoom Lens Footage...

Hey everyone. Are there already any clips available with Canon's new 6x Zoom XL 3.4-20.4mm Lv Wide-Zoom Lens, or any reviews on it? The lens seems to feature good technical specs and is an "L" lens so I am hoping for quality glass (at least better than the standard 20x zoom that consistently shows unacceptabe amounts of CA accross its zoom range... plus its not wide). Also, I wonder if the HL-1H will be available as a body-only option because being forced to buy the body with 20x standard zoom (that I don't need) puts the hole thing out of sense.

The $3,000 price is paramount. And it would be interesting a XL-H1 body offer in order to let the customer to choose the best option for its own needs.

EDIT -- And who knows if it would bring a fresh air to the XL-H1 sales. Afterall, the competition increased and the prices are decreasing.

This is one of the signifigant benefits of the H1. I hope to test (and possibly purchase) one of these babies soon. I expect that CA will actually be less pronounced, especially fully wide, than the stock lens. The stock lens shows the most CA at wide angles in my experience. It's just a fact of life with the lens, (it is less obvious at different apertures and focal lengths) but I am glad to have this option available soon.

I need to get really wide far more often than I need extra telephoto.

I can't wait for this baby. I've been using the 3x SD lens with pretty good results. But I'd rather have an "L" Series lens for extreme wide shots.

Yeah... I have my hopes high that this will be a killer lens with awesome glass from Canon. My only worry is, since I don't own an HL-1H yet because the 20x zoom was both not wide for my projects and its quality inferior to Canon's typical reputation IMO, I am hoping that Canon will make a body-only version only to match it with the new wide lens, because if I have to buy the body + 20x Zoom as kit, and then plus the wide zoom, then this will be totally a no-go for me.

I got an email from a seller but since he's not or at least I don't think he's a sponsor so I won't say who. But the lens is coming the 25th. It'll cost $2,850 and he said you can get a body only for $7,500 around that date as well.

So the 20x only goes for $1,499 then considering its $8,999 with the 20x. So that means you can get the body and wide for $10,350
