1k Bubble Girl video up

Curt & EG,
Thanks for hosting the file. If anybody decides to download the file directly, it would be nice to also keep your torrent open for everybody else. Thanks again.

Every [publicized] image from a device that is near market should be no less than perfect. Characterization of the imager? Come on. Let's not pretend that the MacBeth Color Checker chart wasn't out front of Mysterium two weeks ago and that it didn't look balls-on.

I've asked for the parameters of the test footage to expand, nothing more, nothing less.

I think the motion blur at the end is the shallow girl moving out of focus.
maybe, but when she blinks when first blowing the bubble her eyelids blur and that shouldn't be caused by DOF since her head doesn't move and her eyes are in focus.
red #281

Just saw the footage. Good Lord, this looks spectacular, and the real footage is 8 TIMES THE SIZE!!! I'm really wondering which bank I should rob first...

I already ordered my second RED ONE + 18-85mm zoom (two units) + 300mm reservations.
I didn't know about the lenses. ;)

I like you Emanuel, but I can only take so much...Lol, mate.:beer:

That's # 38, for me (the amount of times i've watched this clip)"mmmm bubblicious" (Canadian reference)

RED #'s rebel with a clue

I have not seen the shot yet but there is a very lengthy (and weird at times) discusion about shutter (rolling shutter, vs global shutter, vs. mechanical shutter vs.Red "something new" shutter, etc. etc.) here:

http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=76426&page=3

All I can say is that Red seems very serious about getting this just right. I don't think this clip represents the final shutter system at all.

As usual, I've taken it upon myself to violate the image as much as possible.

Those who know shake 4.0 will recognize the setting values to the right of the nodes.

Enjoy.

"It says very little about Mysterium "

i'm seeing plenty in all the clips and stills posted ...
if one only sees a car against a black background then ?? i guess one is not going to see "details" - the white silk/diffussion in front of the light shows DETAIL ( which a cinealta & HVX would NOT) .. a beautiful outdoor scene would look pretty good on most camera's ... so far i consider most of REDs images as subtle tonal ranges where you have to really LOOK at it ...subtle shows just as much as loud .. the clip may be of the girl/sunglasses - the IMAGE is in the details ...

IMO till they locked down the camera ( which is suppose to be december) i prefer to see non-pro type images ( as in greenscreen not lit even, and i would have used a 1/2 black silk on the blond ) ..
we'll have plenty of time to see pro lit images before camera ships ..
from what i understand they do have a DP ( he also tested the 4k Dalsa camera) coming out to put the camera thru some test that will answer many questions about the sensor/camera..
