The New, Updated "who's In" List!!!

I will continue to work on it but there is just no way I can make the deadline. I should have started earlier.

It would be really great to get a NEW ROLL CALL of who's still in. The idea of the promotion thread was a good one because once you open a thread in there, it's a lot harder to drop out inconspicuously.

I'm still thinking about 65 entries...

My film Love is the most deceptive feeling will be entering the contest but 'The Door Between' will be shown for exhibition only....it's going to be more than 6mins....

Yep! And that's why I haven't posted mine yet! Until I'm sure I might make it. Don't get me wrong....My skit is so cool, that I would be mad at myself if I don't complete it. I even have had all of my poster, banner & promo stuff done a while ago...and still no post yet. Two reasons:

1:The DEADLINE is creeping closer and closer. And I'm only knee deep.

2:I with my heavy editing schedule, I probably wouldn't be able to keep up with questions in my post. I wouldn't want users to think I was ignoring them.

You also have a point though Blaine, Maybe thats all the more reason I should go ahead a put it up. For motivational purposes.

I'm a little confused about the 'exhibition films'... Shouldn't all entries in this fest be at the 6:00 minute mark to even be included? Or... I guess i'm missing something. Reason why, is I would come here to see all these shorts. Then, all the sudden, there's one that's 12 min long and I would think to myself... why?

I dunno. What are the exact rules to this anyway? Don't get me wrong.. I'd absolutely love to see some of these movies that are over 6 minutes long, but is that fair to all the others going by the rules?

ponder that for a few yae wippersnappers...

The "rules" only apply to those who are eligible for the prizes. We get to submit our films for "Exhibition" meaning we tried to finish the film under the rules and could not cut it, so we will enter simply for feedback. That way, our attempt gets seen, we get feedback, and become better film makers. If something is longer than 6 minutes, you will be able to tell when you open the file. Then you will know it is for exhibition and not eligible. You can then choose to watch it or not.

Aye... I gotcha! Thank you for clearing that up. Of course I'm going to do everything I can to watch them all and give feedback on those films. Just wanted some clarification cause the rules didn't specify instructions for us with "exhibition" films. I guess I could have kept my doody film at 10 minutes :)

I'll still have another shot at "Lakeside" though :)

But alas.. thank you everyone else for dropping out... that just means more of a chance for the rest of us!! muuuhahahahaha

I think I can. I think I can

Hey Gang!

I've been away for awhile, been sick, been better, been sick, been better...damned doctors...phewy on them all!

Anyway, I had HOPED to enter my short in Horrorfest but with the constant barrage of medical interventions the last few months, there's no way I can do it, and do it right. I'm disappointed because I was hoping to make a better showing this time around, but I'll post it when it's done anyway so it can be viewed by those who care to see it

Am happy to be back and back to nearly 100%!

Best of luck with the movies gang! I REALLY can't wait to see what you all cooked up!

Robert

Damn, Robert. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you're feeling better, though. I'll definitely be first in line to see your movie when you're ready to show it.

My shooting is wrapped up. If I had more time, I'd like to re-shoot some stuff, but I think I can work with what I've got. The only thing that worries me is the 16x9 uprezzing. I don't understand instant HD with FCP, which is what I've got. It doesn't seem to make any difference at all, when compared to a clip uprezzed without it.

Hey man, how's Lakeside coming along?

On another note... I am, unfortunately, not able to make the deadline for HorrorFest... but the show will go on...

"Brown Waters" is definitely in. I just finished it tonight. "Lakeside" we are shooting this Saturday. Hopefully we'll pull off all the VFX in time. It'll be cutting it close. Not to mention i'll be scoring, editing, Sound Desiging this hoss. :)

10 days left?

I should pay more attention to these things. If I had realized an HVX was first prize I would have started sooner.

Oh well, Count me in.
