this is why I buy and sell in person using Craigs-list.org . no fees..npn profit meet in a general area like coffe shop.

If buying I see and try the product before paying.
If selling I need cash before I hand it over.

I am almost tempted to display the info i have here for all of you to see. So all you are aware of who this criminal is. He targets us, people who are trying to get into the entertainment business. And who are most vulnerable to shady dealings. I wont rest until this criminal pays.

And to add insult to injury his business involves god, but he is not really associated to the church, Again i cant give too many details. Just in case he gets wind of this.

Bro ... in my humble opinion cut your losses and move on and use that energy into figuring out how to generate that money and more.

sometimes when you concentrate to much on money you miss oppertunity. Ussually when a door is shut a window opens. Stop knocking on the door and find the window.

Make sure who ever lives there dosen't have a dog...

Let go of 2700 when i know who stole it from me? I dont think so. I wont rest until the people who did this to me are punished. Remember they are still at it conning people. if i let it go more people are going to get robbed.

And the thought of them living off my hard earned money. my blood just boils

In my book the only good thief is a dead thief. Although, I hope that you can resolve you issue without resorting to violence. Good Luck.Check this for site for other online scams.

Already filled a report with IC3. Again what good is it. The crimminals are still out there living the life.

I got the impression that you know where this guy lives. If I were you I'd call in some favors with some bouncers, security guards, a football team, whatever, and take it back by force. If, and I stress if you take the opportunity to put the boot in somehow, remember that you're leaving yourself open to a lawsuit/assault charges. Make sure it's worth it (I'd tattoo or scar "thief" across his face).

I too have fallen victim to the Nigerian scams and the Pd did nothing about it. Infact I was the one treated like the criminal only cuz the DA saw a way to make 2grand off me for the city and charged me with possession of a fraudulent check.

Man youre a better than I. I would have snuck into his house at night, stolen the camera back, ****ed up all his sh*%, and left it at that. and its not like hes going to go to the law because he knows he scammed you on a felony lvl. Eye for an Eye.

I'm going to tell you what to do. Go to the cops. Call 911 and simply explain you need a cop to escort you to the home of a known felon to get your stolen merchandise back. This is the beauty of it, you have a police report already. Great. Have your evidence in hand when the cops get there and explain to them you have proof the person is a known criminal and violence may errupt. Under the circumstances they are obligated to aid you in this by escorting you to keep violence from breaking out.

As they drive you over you have them as a captive audience, explain to them this person is guilty of check fraud, felony larceny possibly worth over $20,000, has a house full of stolen goods and is con artist and you would like to press charges immediately if he doesn't return your property. (That means in theory they would have to taken him in at least based on your proof). Make sure you have the false check and an official statement from the bank or WaMu saying it's a false check.

It helps if the bank is investigating it too so call WaMu right now and fax them all the info you have on this guy, I bet the fraud department will be ready to put him under the jail. And if you can get a WaMu official to come with you too, OMG you're so in. This guy is all yours. What's even better is if you start the small claims process and serve him with a warrant while your there. This is an almost foolproof way to bring the pressure from all sides.

Too bad you don't live in Chicago, we have Pam Zekman. She'd investigate the crime and why the cops won't do anything. If you tell her you think the cops are working with them or something like that she'll be all over it. She did the most tightest investigation of city workers loafing, drinking, etc on the job. It was wild. She also did one on uncleaning resturaunts. (One guy drops a steak on the floor then picks it up and serves it).

Honeslty, at this point I would've snuck into his house if I could've and taken my camera back too, but the way I describe above keeps the law involved so everything stays on the up and up.

I tried to get the cops to escort me to reclaim my property. And the POMONA police department informed me it wasnt their problem since the crime didnt happen in their jurisdiction. assholes

Use Nathyn's advice...Get a police escort and others if possible. If after every measure of that doesnt work, start calling up some favors from the local bookie.

If all these other suggestions dont work, you might have to take him to court. Here is what my brother did once and it worked:

  1. a guy owed him $600 for a car part that he wouldnt pay for
  2. my brother went to the local small claims court (in the city where the crime occured)
  3. he filed the paperwork for a small claims lawsuit (approx $40 fee)
  4. the court provided him with the copies that were to be served to the defendant
  5. my brother sent this copy to the defendants address via registered letter (without my brothers name- just the return address otherwise it would spook the guy and he might not sign)
  6. my brother then went back to court with the registered signature and got a court date
  7. the defendant didnt show (all thiefs guilty of fraud almost never do)
  8. my brother got a default judgement for the plaintiff. The defendant now has like 60 days to pay. He didnt (obviously)
  9. then my brother went to the court office with his judgement and had a lien put against the defendants house for $600 (you can do a car to)
  10. now the defendant cant sell or refinance his house without paying off the lien first, and thats what happened. My brother got his money when the guy tried to move.

I know its a lot of crap but if the law enforcement wont lift a finger and you cant get the media to care, you need to take them to court. They wont show up and you will get a judgement in your favor- and then put a lien against their house or car. If they do show you have done all your footwork to win the case.

And if you documented your struggle with this it would make a great little doc.

Good luck :)

I dont think i cant go through that long legal process. i need it dealt with now

if the cops dont care and media wont profile you, you might be up sh*t creek if you need it now. Its either this or picket the precinct that wont help with a sign that reads...

"commit a felony and get away with it!! ask me how!!".

And have a friend call the local newstation with "hey there is some guy picketing the cops". The news would love that.

The problem i see is i know these people are good criminals that manage ways of eluding the law. And my evidence might not be seen as rock solid. Even though i know 100% its them because when i called the guy to try to buy my anamorphic lens. I got him to desrcribe what it comes with. And he described that it came with a BARRY GREENS booklet abouth the lens that I KNOW doesnt come accomponied with the lens. I bought it from DC who is a member of this website. And he could tell you that his lens didnt come with that exact booklet he had it made. Plus DC had decals ontop of the lens with focus numbers that he had made, which the asshole described as well.
Plus the cop who took my report its really going to come down to my word against theirs.

They set up phone numbers and then ditch them. While this sets up a trail. They could deny its theirs. Even though all tracks lead back to their area

I agree with everything written here. It's good advice. You say you already tried and the police said it wasn't thier problem because it's not in thier jurisdiction, well call the preceinct whose jurisdiction it is in. Keep calling till everyone there knows your name. Be polite, but persistent.
