What brand of DVDr do you suggest for archiving purposes?

I'm going to shoot on P2 cards tomorrow and want my assistant to backup my material on the spot on a DVDr (through a laptop). I was kind of baffled in the store today and thought of asking you peoples which brand you'd reccomend for this? Sony, Emtec, Philips, etc? Any speed preferences? 8x 16x?

Any suggestions regarding the best dual layer DVd's to buy? I've used Memorex with 1 bad disc in about thirty.
 
I just read somewhere that burning 8X and 16X discs at the slowest speed can actually result in more issues.
The article recommended burned at a higher rate say 4X and had less issues.

I use Taiyo Yuden BTW.
