Buying from AUTHORIZED dealers with lowest prices

I'm on the verge of buying an HVX, and I'm looking for a list of Authorized Panasonic dealers. There's a locater feature on Panasonic's site here:

http://b2b.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/Locator/Search.jsp?cmpycd=3

...but you have to put in a zipcode, and since you usually get free shipping on orders this big, it doesn't really matter where you get it. So! I'm looking for the lowest price for the HVX from an authorized dealer. A lot of people are saying they got a great deal but they don't say where from. Why is that?
Anyway, for those of you who have bought the HVX from an AUTHORIZED dealer, can you tell us where you got it and for how much?
Thank you!

I have bought most of my gear from B&H but I am considering moving up to Abel Cine. Now don´t get me wrong, B&H is a great store if you know exactly what you want. I have spend days at a time plowing through their entire website, educating myself on the prices and spec´s of things... and I have spend days at their north-pole-like santa clause factory store on 9th ave in NY. But the truth of the matter is that I am now buying things that require above-and-beyond-call-of-duty service, and B&H can´t give that. Also, B&H doesn´t sell higher end stuff like Abel does.

But I digress... For an HVX I would go with Abel because a), it´s slightly cheaper than B&H, and b), if anything happens, they will save me. Oh, and c), they have something to do with this board I think... or is that just my impression from some of the posts?

So there, one more opinion.

P.S. On the other hand, B&H has the best shipping cartons / packing I have seen. Everything is double boxed with tons of peanuts or airbags.

Out of curiosity, what does Able Cine carry that B&H won't? Don't get me wrong, I'm quit glad of Able's DVXUser discounts and they've been great when I've dealed with them but they don't seem to have quite the network and seleciton that B&H does. And you're right, B&H packs their stuff like crazy. I recently ordered an AT4073a. I was horrified to see that the UPS guy clearly had not treated it well and the box was badly damaged. Thankfully there was so damn much bubble wrape every where as well as more layers of cardbored that everything was in fine condition.

Well... for starters... all the film gear: Aaton, Panther, etc. And also high-end HD stuff like the CineAlta and the Varicam. But I still love B&H... the only place on planet earth I know off where the staff trully doesn't care if your order is 5 bucks or 50,000 dollars.

There's ample incentive for ordering out-of-state -- he would save California State Sales Tax. That's a big chunk.

Got the NAB deal from B&H but after a recent bad experience, as the saying goes, they are dead to me. I'm going with Abel or anyone else from here on out.

I bought about 9k worth of stuff from them, the last thing being an Acer computer. I wrote about this on another post so I won't go into all the gory detail, all I'll say is that the computer was defective (crashing etc.) and I feel they at at best omitted major details about the RMa process accidentally (and I may be being generous here) As a result I bought a replacement and the computer wasn't necessarily being treated as a return at first.

It was a nightmare getting the refund on the original, so much so that I called Amex about 3 weeks into it and disputed the charge. I also felt the support people were a bit arrogant and condescending at times, I am originally from NY so it isn't a NYC thing.

Bottom line, people seem to like B&H on inventory and pricing, but I want to develop a relationship with a company that is going to have genuine concern when there is a legitimate issue, especially when I spend the next 9k or so with them. I am not saying B&H defrauded me or that problems shouldn't occur, just that I think they are more about the sale than the service, and because of that I am a)thankful there was no issue with my HVX and b) going elsewhere

Price, they had the model I had been researching at a fair price. Since I had used them for everything else, I figured why not rather than New Egg and the rest who I haven't used. This model was not in stock locally brick and mortar.

Buying wireless lavs this week and going with a company called Talamas, highly regarded in Boston especially for audio. Ironically the best price I have found as well.

Of course, due to California's Teleproducer's Tax Rate Exemption, he'd only have to pay 3% sales tax.

Most dealers in Cali should know this.

By the way, EVS is an extremely authorized dealer for the HVX and all accessories.

I wish all states observed this type of incentive.

How does one become "extremely authorized"? Is this like the platinum level of authorization that separates this store from the other ones who merely have "regular" authorization?

Okay, I see... I guess the extra $500 that EVS charges for the HVX goes to pay for this attained higher-level of conciousness.
