are these people good to deal with on the HVX

If you want to get one at a good price, get it in Tokyo.
If you buy from Tokyo, it's not covered by the USA warranty. If you have a problem with it, you have to send it to Japan for repair. :undecided

Yeah, try those guys! make sure you get their "miracle diet pills" too!
I lost a 100 pounds and got a HVX for free!

USA warrantee lasts for how long? Pay a galaxy price for your camera, but fret over the chump change to mail it... once a year... if that much. Word has it that service is superb in the homeland of Panasonic.

I wouldn't call express-shipping and insuring a $5K+ camcorder halfway around the world chump change. Add to that the language and time barrier, and now it really doesn't make any business (or otherwise) sense to try to save money by buying the camera overseas.

Word has it that service is pretty spiffy at Panasonic service centers here in the US of A as well.

I repeat from the other thread. Call them and give them all of your credit card info. Say the secret password in Yiddish: "Mir sein a groise freier." I can help you with the proper inflection to assure maximum protological insertion.

Time for a FAQ on this... Most all cameras that are not from US dealers are going to be grey market and not covered by ANY warranty in the US. You want to ship your $5000 camera to the Phillipines and roll the dice? Not worth it...

ash =o)

Man these places are horrible. How do they get away with it for so long?? Im not joking when I say they wouldnt last 6 months operating like this in Australia.
