Anyone using a dual boot macbook pro with either the no reboot Parallels or the reboot bootcamp and using the free P2 viewer on the HV200 supplied disc? I'd love to hear about any experiences.
Well in a way thats what i want to know. P2 viewer is free. bootcamp is free, but Parallels is $79 and lets me run windoze on the mac without rebooting. So free P2 viewer, $79 parallesl if I don't like shutting down and rebooting ( no cost with bootcamp), and p2 genie for I think around $33. So a little over a hundred dollars or $33 gets me full pc emulation, p2 viewing, and genie efficient workflow.
Instead of P2 log which is $99 now, $150 after the 15th and has that lousy internet authorization thing I hate. If imagine does away with that authentiction thing when they up the price I just might pay the $150 and reconsider.
An yes I know I'm not adding the cost of windows but it would be good to have for those times when a program like the p2 viewer or other programs run only PC. it would be worth having aside from P2 use.
But I'd like to know if anyone is doing it the emulation way and if there are any problems with it.
Like I said I know I did not include the price of windows. Even though I'll never leave the mac world, having the option to have windows whenever you might need it is a luxury thats worth the cost disregarding is use with the HVX200. And now for the first time I have a need, free P2 viewing and I'm covered for anything else. That to me is worth the cost of windows.
The company can't work with me if I boot upon on the road with no internet access and it asks for an authentication code. I've been there. can't trust it, never will.
Does HD log bronze do everything p2 log does? HD log doesn't need authentication. that I might do if it does everything P2 log does.
Sorry David I wasn't clear. You don't have to authenticate every time you use the program. You do it once and you are good. Its just that sometimes for unexplained reasons programs that need authentication out of blue may ask for authentication and need to get a new number from the company to activate. I don't know why that happens. A while ago I used a program that had this kind of activation and for no reason at all I would get a message that i needed to activate it and get a new authentication number. I had the program maybe 4 months and it happened several times while I was away from internet access. Its not supposed to do it but it happened. I don't want to get caught like that again.
