Menu rotation

Ok, here's a quick question. This was my first weekend ever shooting with the HVX. I rented it for today and tomorrow since Sunday I've got an "informal" shoot for a friend that comes close to most other situations I shoot in.

However, one thing I noticed is that while looking at the fliped out viewfinder, the four-way "arrows" on the top of the camera don't match the direction the cursor moves in the Menus and thumbnail screen.

I know it matches up a bit better when the screen is rotated
all the way around and pushed back into the side of the camera. But I was hoping there was a way to customize the four buttons, essensially rotating them counterclockwise 90 degrees.

Not a huge killer, but takes awhile to get used to.

By the way... AWESOME camera! I see myself buying one by year's end.

Warm regards,
Scott

I got used to navigating the HVX menus pretty quickly, didn't have much problem. No way to customize how those buttons work. You'll get used to it, it's no big deal.

Well guys, thanks anyway. It was worth a shot!

Oh, by the way, I just finished my first weekend with the HVX rental (had to turn it back in yesterday... *sniff* *sniff* *sob* *sob*).

What can I say! Remarkable camera. Now I can see first hand what you guys have been raving over. I was shooting both into the Macbook (external G-Drive) and also onto the P2 cards the rental place gave me. 720/24p for the firewire capture and 720/24PN for the P2 capture (only had two 4GB cards).

I was watching the footage and was using my XL-1 as a second camera. It's footage looked like trash compared to the HVX. I know there's 8-9 years of technology that's helping, but man! I don't want to go back to my XL-1 anymore!

A word of advice to anyone out there... DON'T RENT AN HVX-200. You'll NEVER want to return it!!!!

I'm now planning my next fiscal year to include the purchase of an HVX. The time I saved being able to watch the footage right there on the Macbook was remarkable.

Thanks guys for the help!
Scott
