one mor thing, i have this willoughbys uv filter, can i still use that?

i did some reading on your posts, but coulding really find an answer. im pretty sure i can use the uv right?

Depends how far up front the mic goes. Should be ok, but can't say for sure since the mic clip won't tilt up. Might touch French Flag. Hard to say 100%. Having mic on camera is a bad idea unless you absolutely have to so I never put much thought in a clip on mic. Sorry for the vague answer.

UV filter is fine if it has front threads and it should

I am using mine with a screw in 72mm UV filter. Put your filter on the camera. Then run your finger around the inside of the ring of the filter and if you feel grooves then you have a stackable filter and can use the box. I have never seen a filter that does not have a female thread on the inside of the outer ring.

In fact, if you can put the lens cap on with the uv filter and it stays in place and can't be removed without squeezing the little ridges in the center of the cap, then you have a stackable filter. The cap grabs the threads. Those are the threads you will screw the adapter into.

As Gene Wilder said in his best movie, "IT.. WILL.. WORK!"

Get the box and make your clients think you are shooting with a $10,000. camera.

That on camera mike may be a close one, but you really don't want t be using that if you are serious anyway. Sell it and get a better mike and put it up a little higher on a schockmount and you won't have a problem with the flag in the way.

And name the above movie.

I personally don't care if the French flag is adjustable or not
the point is that this matte box is bullet proof!!!!!

Ordered mine yesterday and it turns out I was his first Canadian Customer .
The price ,reviews and the fact I can still use my old filters were the main selling point for me .

Not worried about the on board mic , never use it anyway.

For those that want to use 4" filters, the HD version is going live next week.
$100 more then the DV version. Is a fair bit wider as you can see here.

As per requests and feedback, this unit has a wide big ass French flag
and tapered side flags

Are those ribits holding the flags or small bolts because the dv has some big wing screws
 
No, they are a smaller headed knob. Some people don't dig the big ones. I was going to offer the small ones for free to everyone who bought.

Just have not had a chance to email everyone yet...

I take by you asking, you would like them for yours? :laugh:
