Hi David, my profile has been barely functional for the past few months and no one has been able to fix it for me. I started a new username (Abe Halpert) in lieu of this one, which was working fine until it got banned for being a duplicate. Would it be possible to ban ahalpert instead and let me use Abe Halpert since we can't seem to get ahalpert to work?

We are small Video Editing studio in Latvia (European Union)- in house Video Editors, Colorist, and 2D motion designer. We actually filming as well: music clips & short films, as well as some other regular stuff

Yes, I did knock up an SLOG3 to S-Cinetone LUT for a particular job we did.

I'm not saying it's the best thing going, but it worked for us on two FS7s in a shoot with an FX9 shooting S-Cinetone. So we shot S-LOG3 on the 7s and in post used the 64 point grading LUT to match the FX9's Cinetone. I made the three LUTs in Resolve. A 64 point LUT for grading, a 33 point LUT for the camera, as it won't take a 64 pointer, and a 17 point LUT for certain monitors and LUT boxes. With a little tweaking here and there, mainly in the white balance, all worked out pretty well. I'm usually shooting S-LOG3 about one stop over. This LUT is optimised to work best with footage one stop over. Obviously, within reason, it can be used with any exposure footage. You just have to grade your levels accordingly. Hi there!

I saw that last summer you concocted an SLOG3 to Cinetone Lut for use with the FS7. I would LOVE to get my hands on that. Doing a 3 cam shoot of a playreading but one of the cams is the FS7. I see the google drive link you posted no longer works. Any chance you could send me a new link? :)

i have just seen an a7iv at more affordable price..it has 22000 shutter count...isn't it a little bit too much what you think?

The A7iv has a totally new design of shutter over the A7iii. Which did have some shutter issues with very high shutter counts. I have not heard of a shutter issue with the A7iv so far. At 22k I think that would be fine. Especially if you are shooting mainly video. I forgot to mention that as far as noise levels go up to 12800 it considerably better than the A7Siii. 90% of the time I am shooting HD 50p. Most of the time I'm using crop mode because I have a number of S35 lenses. If shooting FF, as I mentioned, I use either the 28-135 mm or more frequently I'm using the 24-105 mm. I really like that lens as it is much smaller and more compact than the 28-135. Have a look at these two 4K examples out of the A7iv in APSC mode. Both shot using the Tamron 18-300 mm F/3.5 - 6.3. Not a fast lens, but look at the 4k night footage. Nothing wrong with it.

These were the test shots I did before putting down my hard-earned money for the A7iv, So I understand what you are saying about the cost of equipment. Seriously, I have no complaints with the output of the A7iv in low light, or any light conditions. With the screen open I have often recorded up to 3 hours 30 minutes continuously on entertainment shows using a PD certified USB-C power supply of 9 volts, 3 amps. Not once have I had a heating issue. Sony's recommendation for external power is to use a 9 volt 3 amp 65 watt USB-C supply. Just make sure the Hi Temp setting is selected in the menu and that the screen is flipped out.

Hello; also living in Canada, near Peterborough. Your post re the phone cinematography caught my attention when you mentioned being at the front of the line for new Sony gear. Did you by any chance know the film maker Cory Trepanier? He described to me his association with Sony Canada giving him the latest cameras to try out because he was taking them to the high Arctic every year for weeks at a time.
Anyway, just a curiosity i have from knowing Cory on and off.

Hi Charlie, I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting Cory.
I've had connections with Sony in both Montreal and Toronto, overseeing the production of two projects in collaboration with Sony Canada.
Brian Young frequently provided insights into upcoming camera releases.
Additionally, Sony generously provided cameras and editing equipment for a filmmaking course I conducted for Inuit filmmakers in the Arctic.
They also supplied cameras for courses I taught to the staff and cinematographers at the NFB during their transition from film to video.

Unfortunately, I've encountered very little interest and some resistance to iPhone Cinematography on DVXusers.
