I found a 2nd Genesis in the back of a warehouse in China, it was missing the CCD but had a lot of pieces that were proving troublesome: working side panel, quick release for the base. I also can't believe how lucky some guy had the Genesis base in Atlanta and put it on ebay about a year ago.
I just bought 25-250 Angenieux HP for a good deal and Duclos makes PV back for it so the hope is the lens is the last piece of the puzzle. Now just a lot more sanding. I might try powder coating, I might just paint it black.
I know it looks like a lot more still, but I finally have all the parts to combine so now I will be motivated to finish.
I'm probably gonna try to sell it all next year when im done. Nothing against it, it's a cool camera, but I have 16mm camera I would prefer to shoot if im doing project where I get to pick.
I also think that SRW-9000 is easy fix listed on ebay but thats a wild guess.
Hello! Been a minute. Are you still around? What are you up to these days? You should join the FB group for the F35. I think folks would love to hear your voice there. Talk soon
After all this LUT chatter, I revisited the LUT and tweaked it a little. Plus, I made a second one which has its saturation vectors based on 100% as opposed to 75%. Quite a few people like a slightly more saturated image. Personal taste, I guess. Please feel free to play. :)
I'd like to discuss RGB lighting for your facility but felt it better to do in private. Please email me at mgross@prolycht.com and we can discuss options.

Hi All
I took over an advanced High School film program just before the start of the pandemic. We're a little different from most HS media classes. We don't do daily announcements, we do short films and enter them in festivals.
I've received a grant for $10k to upgrade cameras for my 3rd and 4th year students. We currently have Canon 80D and Lumix GH4 camera with manual lenses. So those are good, but I'd like to a pro camera that is a cinema camera first, with features like built in NDs, etc etc,
I was looking at getting two Canon C200s, which BH is selling now with handle and vf new for $3500.
But Because this is a private grant and not the district paying for it, I have the option of buying used. I'm fantasizing about instead getting An alexa classic package, (like this? https://visualproducts.com/product/a...amera-package/) or a couple of Red epic Dragon 6k from 2015 which has also been recommended to me. My thought is that this would be a way for my best students to get experience on fully pro gear, And that we'e now at the point where we were with 35mm cameras for decades.
Did the feature films shot with an Alexa Classic or plus a dozen years ago now look bad or unacceptable?
What do you all think? Thoughts? Alternate suggestions? Stick with new and get the C200?
If you're wondering why a HS would need an alexa, we are ambitious. Some of our students are with us for 3 to 4 years, and so they can get quite good. We have won 7 National Student Production Awards in the last six years from the Natl. Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (informally called student Emmys).
For examples of the level of work our students have done:
Charles, Do you have any interest in a Cartoni C15? I have one gathering dust and I want to give it to someone who can use it. There is little information about it online. It has 4 drag settings and a 100mm ball. I made a simple plate for it and a handle. It's in good shape. I can send pictures if you like. This website has a picture of it and says it handles 18kg. Maybe you are familiar with it. If you are interested and willing to cover postage it's yours. https://winmar-pl.translate.goog/glowica-cartoni-15c-wypozyczenie-p-174914.html?_x_tr_sl=fr&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
