Zzyzx

Hi. all! RIchard Halpern here, director of Zzyzx. Thanks for the kinds words! Having good success on the downloads, and, hoping for even better success from DVD, which you can preorder at www.zzmovie.ecrater.com

We had several offers, including one from Lion's Gate, though, we decided that, we can make more money selling downloads and DVDs on our own, and, we will always own our film, which is very important.

Feel free to contract me direct: richard@zzmovie.com. Please buy DVDs! Send out links to the world to help sell the dvd!

Thanks, RIchard

I think you guys are doing it the brave way. I really think this is the future for Indies.

Thanks John for the heads up and thanks Richard for stopping in. I wish you the best of luck.

I just downloaded it and hope to watch it very soon.

"CHIPS"

I thought that was well done. I loved the grittiness of it but some of the shots were way too dark for my taste. I loved that the story played out as the remains were being dug up. I thought the acting was very good except when the girl was the last one alive. It seemed since there was no one to play off of her acting flattened out near the end. She was really good during the rest with the other cast members. Was that all scripted out or did you let them improvise a lot? It seemed very improvised because of the natural feeling of the interaction. I didn't get the tie in to the myth though. Yeah he heard stuff on his headphones but it never really seemed to come full circle at the end. I was expecting to see the couple at some point or something to happen that directly related to the myth.
Great job.

Araminator ... how's about an edit to add a spoiler alert mi amigo :)
I'm about halfway through this thing watching it on my ipod on the old subway.
... now if I can only find Tommy Lee Jones or Will Smith to erase my memory

BTW, hope your recovery is going well

Just got finished watching it. Short review ahead, no spoilers:

Story - Decent

Directing - Decent yet unconventional.

Acting - Bordering Bad

Editing - Bad

ADR - Terrible

Recommendation - You'd better go and download this one. Best 2.99 I've spent on the internet. And if you have a cable connection, it takes like fifteen minutes to DL the entire 80 minute movie.

Final Thoughts - Ever heard of content equals king? Prime example. Great Recommendation by Hudson.

My family lives in Vegas so one year while driving out there from LA for thanksgiving, the wife and I decided to check out Zzyyzx. It's an oasis in the desert and is now a research facility for UCLA. There are a bunch of labs and dorms out there. The oasis itself is in pretty bad shape but you can see that when it was being taken care of it was very beautiful. I have some pics of it I will ask the wife to dig up and I'll link em here.

FYI, they pronounce it Zie Zix. I always thought it was Zizz Zix.
