Zylight Z50/Z90 Green/Cyan Cast in ENG & The EX1

Hi Everyone,

In my attempt to determine some differences between LED spectrum lighting vs. tungsten and Zylight color casts in tungsten using the EX1, I performed a test with the 3 types of light to view LED 3200k color rendition when white balanced to tungsten.

The primary purpose of the test is the Zylights but since white balance readings and color rendition also differ by camera it's particular to the EX1. If you find it interesting or otherwise any feedback is welcome.

Thanks for sharing! I'm sure you noticed the changing light to subject distance makes the faces go a bit dim sometimes. As usual nice spread pattern from the Zylight. Love the absence of a point source indication. To my eye there is a slight green/blue cast but I have to look at it more to pin it down. Did you WB to the room, preset or to Z90's 32k?

In my test in the link cast is much more prevalent on the full res grabs, mostly for Z50. Maybe I'll try to put up larger captures.

By the way, I like the sonic character of the audio in the clip, for ENG. I like the pattern characteristics of that mic, must be a cardiod? Which Sennheiser mic is that? Was the ambiance recorded on a separate channel or is that through the handheld also? Did you have a sound tech or where you a one man band. Nice headroom. I.e. assuming minimal or no post audio processing.
