zooming

Does anyone know why the handle zoom options 1, 2, 3 only work fo the handle zoom (top of the camera) and not on the hand strap zoom on the side? I always use the side zoom and it sure would be nice to change the setting to a slower option like you can with the zoom at the top of the camera.

They are different kinds of switches. The side rocker has variable speeds depending on how far in it is pressed. The handle zoom maintains a constant speed, determined by the 1-2-3 switch. If you want the side zoom to go slower, try pressing it down only a little bit. Play around with them and you'll see that each one comes in handy at certain times.

Thanks. Disappointing. It is almost impossible to get a consistent zoom when you have to zoom by manual pressure on the zoom button.

It's actually rather easy. There are only three speeds. Just practice.
