zooming problem

At first, sorry my bad english, but I try to explain my problem...
When I start to zooming there's some kind of "click" inside the lens and picture is moving horizontally a bit. Very unprofessional look as you imagine. Everything is fine when I push zoom button for a moment and then another (long and normal) push for zooming same direction. Same problem when starting to zoom opposite direction...same "jump".
My guess is, someone has tried to move zoom ring with servo "on" with very rough moves.
Zooming gear is working quite normally:

My questin is: is there any chance for disassemble focus ribbon cable inside the lens or maybe someone has repaired same zoom problem?
[Please don't tell me to send my camera for repairing. This is very last option for me, as I worked several years in camera-repairing centre]

Thank you for advance!

Hello sebastian,

You may need to remove the lens and tear it down to get all of the dirt. To make that much of a glitch means that it must be pretty dirty. It's not something that can be easily explained but you need to take the LCD side off, remove the circuit board that is covering the CCD, and then remove the lens. You will then have to remove all of the ribbons that you possibly can from the lens assembly very carefully ans take each layer apart. The last layer contains that zoom element. You will see tracks in there that move the lens back and forth. Those need cleaned and re-lubed. Clean and re-lube the zoom motor gears and also the teeth that go around the zoom element casing.

I know that you said not to say this but an Authorized Repair Center is the best way to handle this problem. We have had much experience and training doing just this.

Thank you, Spec-Comm!
I'm pretty sure there's no dirt inside. I bought new camera with zero hours on counter and never used in dirty places. However...this camera was not in "closed box" but some kind of example in shop for everyone to try.
Again, thanks Spec. If I find this job too complicated or simple lubing isn't enough, I'll send it to rep. center.
