Zoom lenses at last?

[TomLenham]

Panasonic have announced 2 new zoom lenses - with the zoom rocker on the lens itself http://www.43rumors.com/ft5-panason...70mm-will-have-power-zoom-and-inner-focusing/

[Ed Kishel]

if true, I hope the remote zoom controllers can talk with it. The port on the back of the AF says S/S but on all other fixed lens Panas it is also for zooming (HMC)

[TomLenham]

that would be nice!

No they haven't. Panasonic hasn't announced anything. A rumor site is claiming that something's coming, but that's a far sight different from an official company announcement.

Remember, this is the same source that told us that [h=3](FT4) Panasonic is about to launch the new 12-50mm f/2.5-3.3 zoom![/h]And that was over eight months ago.

Rumors are meaningless. Only thing that counts is official company announcements.

Rumor indeed! I just found a spy photo taken by Hitoshi Kawamura, a janitor at Panasonic's Yamagata plant in Japan. Where do I pre-order?

LOL wow, that thing has a constant f/1 :-O

[Barry_Green]

Well Ed, that's the wrong lens. That's the OIS version of the 7-14 that we all "know" is coming out imminently -- after all, all the "rumors" say so, right?

[swanny]

I bet that toggle does something awesome that we can't live without!
