Zoom is sticking/slowing down

When pressing the zoom controller, the zoom slows down and speeds up. It happens at different times when zooming in or out. It feels like something is blocking the zoom ring or it needs to be lubricated.

It does not happen when using the top handle zoom, only the side zoom controller.

The camera has 522 hours and has been flawless.

Anybody know of this or have a solution? Would a repair for this be part of my 5 year warranty?

I actually just went through something similar. I sent it in ( california) for a service. turned out to be the ribbon cable inside. There were also other problems found. the whole thing with cleaning and service and shipping was 630.00

Cheap considering I was expecting g to brick the thing and get a 370.
