Hi there,

just wonder if these zoom ins and outs like on this video is made with software or are you guys actually using the lens ?

Here is the example...its so smooth so I just wonder.

edit:

Another question, since Iam a beginner Iam a bit confused about slow motion options with the PAL GH2. What options are possible for me except the 80% slow down ? So just filming in 720/50p and changing to 25p or how should I do this ?

Nvm...found this : http://philipbloom.net/tutorials-1/...p-into-slow-motion-with-cinema-tools/...works with cinema tools.

This is quiete a clever combination which I didnt notive first, I guess its impossible with dslr lenses to zoom that smooth or without a zoom motor.

Actually, I did find a video where zoom in & out is made with software without still photos. What software is needed to do this ?

looks like a timelapse done with still photos played back at a normal framerate. Zooming is done in post smoothly because the shot is actually stable and all you are doing is zooming into a 100% photo from a 1080 crop video.

Not all of those zooms of Bruce Dales are photos, some of them are most definitely video. You can get zooms that smooth using a smooth lever

This video uses plenty of real zooming with the 14-140mm zoom lens, and the Pansonic lens adaptor ring. So smooth in parts you hardly notice.

Hey thanks for the response, the 14-140 seems to handle it quiete good.

When it comes to this video which I did post already, it seems that pan & zoom is also possible for video and not just stills with sony vegas (digital zoom)...will look for a tutorial, if Iam not wrong..But maybe it is indeed timeplaps, just wonder since he used a sony HC9 camcorder.

Definitely - looks like an after effects job there
