Is it enough for someone that just want to get a better sound quality than the Gh1?

The H4 is too expensive for me, I am not a pro, just want to get a good sound quality .

Beside reading the specs, I have zero understanding in sound recording, so what are the major downsides that I have in the H2 vs the H4.

Try to remember I am doing video art and nothing professional.

The H2 is a great unit and works fine for most folks and has great sound quality. Make sure to record at the highest settings, and I think you'll be impressed with the results. If you don't need things like phantom power and are looking for something simple and effective, I'd highly recommend it.

It would totally agree. I am using the H2 as well, it is very nice for ambient sound recording with the internal mic.

you will have to go to the small mic plug ( another connection) from a xlr mic . sound quaility is great.

I am not planing to add a mic or a boom, just want to improve my GH1 sound recording, and to use only the H2 internal mic.

I will get myself one.
