zoom all out - all in focus?

dear all,

please forgive this silly question, i'm a beginner and willing to make sure of this.

i'm using a DVX100A, i wish to make sure that when i zoom all the way out(widest), is it true that all(or almost all) objects will be in focus? So that i won't need to care about focusing my objects anymore? And it applies to any iris settings?

no thats not true. things may not look as out of focus as if you were zoomed all the way in but depth of field is still there just not as exaggerated as when fully zoomed in.

Yeh, you always need to focus, unless you just turn on auto-focus.
