Zombies Are People Too

seen this one, i'm gonna give it an 8

i thought it was really well executed and felt like the office meets zombies. good work

Hey there...Thought this was great. Your first time ? Impressive.

Your cinematography was clean and crisp, and served your short really well. Ilike the fact it was more like an HD image than a filmic one. You captured the feel of the office really well (I'm also a fan of Ricky Gervais), and added your own style. The acting was pretty good, especially your lead actor - that's guys got natural timing.

All in all, it was a smooth and effective comedic short. Although the concept (as typified in many other shorts) wasn't exactly unique, IMO, you handled the humour and subtlety of the "zombies are people too" concept splendidly.

Even thinking back on the last line (good line readings mostly) makes me chuckle... (paraphrasing) " Would you like a plaster"?

Cheers. :)

Hey, I liked this too! This was well shot, like a cool industrial video, and I loved how you manage to keep the moments real, and absurd. Cool concept of showing the boom operator in EVERY TAKE! Do you have something aggainst sound people? :)

You go beyond the office zombie gag, what I laughed the most was the improv situation when the girl comes back "he tried to bite me..." it was funny because it was real. Good work!

I really the dug the comedy in this one, this was the first of 79 i watched, really funny. I wont comment on the techincal stuff because the humor seems the "meat" of this movie.
nice work, I gave you the highest rank as far as comedy goes... I don't dig comedy because ... IM SO... dull... like a zombie. again great job dude!

Hey Duffdaddy if this is truley your first then you did a fantastic job. I liked most of the short for that commentary/documentary feel. Good pace and good actors. Good work!

Hey I have a critique. The microphone in frame in every testimonial was overused, There, I said it!

Still for a first effort, this is tremendous!

No problem Taubkin - we debated about this too, and the idea was that the mic/sound person was a character too, but some of the connecting threads got lost in the edit so it didn't translate that well - we didn't quite pull that idea off.

This was terrific, nice work. I don't know how much was scripted vs improv, but the humour just sparkled.

And I've developed a massive crush on your actress. Does she enjoy roses?

Jesus dude you had to say that and make me push ZAPT up the que... Mr. Production Star just thinks he can come in and bugger off with our women. Bloody Hell! Why don't you have a 'nosh.

Right!

Umm... yeah, she is crush-worthy. I found the flick entertaining... but that damn Curugon tricked me into not paying attention at the moment that "she" came on... from there on out I don't know the story.

Seriously though... good flick... I personally enjoying the booming presence... of that sweet, sweet lass... oops wrong accent... sorry.

LOL, yea well that sweet wee "crushable" lass is married to the zombie racist and if you send her roses, he'll "connect four" ya!
Re: the improv vs. acting, it was a little of both - loosely scripted and rehearsed in much haste, with the blanks improv'd on the day.
Curugon - your film really rocked. Right now I think you and Disjecta are right up there in my selection list. Still working my way through so many downloads though... whew, it's exhausting.

And did you notice she had to be the shortest boom operator in the industry - there was a joke in there somewhere, but I think we missed it..

Thanks! Yeah it is exhausting, isn't it? I finally finished watching all of them last night, I might be zombied-out for a while.

Hey
I just watched this and I thought it was great. The boom coming in the shot got old quick. I liked it the first time it dipped down and than when she kept running in front of the camera to open doors.. but it seemed to me more like it was bad camera work when she started out in the frame.. so it looked like boom and camera were bad.. did anyone else feel that? The end really seemed real though when she came back and claimed to be bitten. It felt like reality TV near the end. good job
Brian

that was great. I was thinking the same thing about the short boom op. I laughed at the boom in the shot everytime imagining the camera man kicking her each time she "fell sleep".

Just watched and REALLY enjoyed this film.

I dug the 'mockumentary' vibe. You captured the feel of an office well, and your lead has great natural timing.

I liked the boom mic dropping into the shot; it made me laugh! Overall, nicely done.

First, I would like to say the gags really worked (with the possible exception of the mic-in-frame schtick abuse).

I was feeling a "true-to-life-office" vibe...not at all staged.

Had a similar feel to the Burger King "Office Series" commercials (which is a good thing, as they are obviously part of a successful ad campaign.)

When I first watched it I thought the gags were unintentional. I appreciated it a lot more on return viewings.

Felt very average Joe, which is good because I bought the office scenario 100%! Looked nice and felt good.

Cute lead actress, but not my type. ;-)

Nice job!!!!

Robert
