Zombiefest DVD finally out!

Texas Fortune is gonna ROCK YOU!!

So, so, good.
Oh, yeah. That definitely rocked!

In the past I have HATED zombie pictures...Night of the Living Dead et. al. But so far I've seen Texas Fortune, The Shed, No Such Thing, The Last Supper and Shot in the Dark. They were all good. I could see The Shed and Texas Fortune both as features with a some hard work on expanding the idea. Jack Daniel Stanley...two for two. I guess the pressure is on for Hero Fest. I definitely would have preferred some other topic for the next fest...something that would make me want to join in... but if what I've seen from the last two fests is any indication, I may very well have to rethink my distaste for Super Hero movies.

yeah more so with texas fortune, although both are vignettes from what could be larger stories -- the group on the run from zombies that ecnounters the false hero in Texas fortune and then they have to team up cuz he knows how to kill the zombies even though they don't trust him.

Shed could happen in almost any Zombie movie, and as such is less an idea to hang a movie on I think.

Yeah it was already on. But i won't be satisfied until I have numero uno.

yeah that was my initial response, but hero is actually the broadest of the genres so far, especially if you look at it from a more literary standpoint -- someone has to do something heroic, or it has to deal with the theme of heroism, not necesserily have a protagonist that has a secret identity and a costume.

Texas Fortune would do well in either Hero or Zombie.

I wanna do something like a History of Violence. Or maybe Donnie Darko. But something really real. Only problem is, now that I've moved to New York, I have a friend that's a professional stunt man with all the gear we need to do wire work, plus he also owns a company that supplies cars for movies, also he works with an acrobat that can do a sideways flip over a car from standing still ... so its gonna be hard to not go broad with it, though maybe I can incorporate those elements in something more real ... like Unbreakable, but better.

I enjoy your style, Jack, so I'm sure you're going to do something great. Right now, I'm finishing a feature we shot in August...hopefully, it will be done in two weeks and then it's time to find some distribution. This is going to be a time consuming endeavor, I'm sure.

(Shameless plug: If you have taken a look at the trailer it can be found here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=48426 . We tried to incorporate some campy humor along with some decent horror action. We didn't really want to go the t&a gore fest route.)

I like how you tell a story and I can't wait to see what you come up with. I loved A History of Violence. I took my daughter to a screening with a Q&A session with the screenwriter afterward. We BOTH love it. Unbreakable was good, too. As was Batman Begins. But that's it for me. Hated the whole Superman thing...Darkman...Batman (except Batman Begins)...Spiderman (although 2 was watchable)...The Green whatever...and so on and so forth...

Is there anyway to get a DVD now that they're sold out? Sorry if I missed it, reading through 21 pages looked awfully daunting...

i'll rip you a copy of mine if jarred ok's it -- wouldn't be right to charge you

but you'd have to send me a self addressed stamped envelope to send it to you because I am an irresponsible lazy procrastinating bastard and I will never get around to it otherwise.

but if I get your envelope it'll make me do it and mail it.
OK I just heard from Jarred on this. Someone actually sent me a SASE so I thought I'd double check and well to put it LIGHTLY ...

He doesn't want us doing this. Thought you should know, since I was solicited privately by someone to copy mine before I ever mentioned it here, so sure others that own this may be getting hit up also.

Jack, I say we team up and make a film about a cowboy grifter trapped in a shed. Kind of like 12 Angry Men, but with more syringes.

There's some demand out there but who knows if its enough to cover his costs or not.

I have asked about this and unless he surprises us with a new answer, the answer is that there are NO firm plans for a re-release right now.

I am trying to get him to do a year end best of DVD and pull out all the stops though.

for sale now is the Sci Fest DVD, the Zombie Fest DVD is caput. In the Next 2 - 4 months the Hero Fest DVD will be out. Some flicks from the Zombie DVD will be on a BEST of DVD that will have selected flicks from Zombie, Sci Fi, and Hero ... and maybe Horrorfest but I think that would be on the next best of -- 06/07 vs Best of for 05/06 ... but that's just a guess.

You can also go to the Zombie Fest 2005 winners thread in the Zombie Fest Subforum and see the top three films on the DVD for free.

These are replicated from a glass master? Where are you getting this done Jarred? Are you getting a special deal because you are the man, or would an average Joe might expect to pay a similar price for replication. That is a good price on the dvd's you are charging. Has that always been the price?
Jason

EDIT: I am speaking of the scifi dvd link by the way
