Zombie Test #1

Re: Zombie Test #1

For me cool! but:

1) a little to much make-up for me - in some shots guy looked like a beaten up football fan :) (this white color on his face was none realistic)
2) In two shots blood had to much "magenta" in it...

But It looked good! + these colors! Ach!

//Good luck!

Re: Zombie Test #1

Yea i did the makeup in like 10 min. Had limited resources. Just a test for future bigger shoot.

Just used latex and toilet paper for the face wounds, then colored them in w/ some cheap HW makeup. :)

Thanx for the feedback!

Re: Zombie Test #1

I cant comment on the colors because my monitor sucks, but I liked the cinematography, too. Were you just doing handheld and walking behind him, because if you were it looked great to me. I cant do a handheld shot if my life depended on it, much less following someone for a good shot.

Dont we all wish we had friends willing to be undead for us? Your guy had a creepy crawl there at the end.

Re: Zombie Test #1

The contrast between the zombie and his surroundings was nice. Nice depth too.

As for the zombie, I'd say it seemed too green, looking more "the mask"ish than zombie-ish. How about trying grey's and blue's next time instead, or tame the green down a lot.

Also, I know you did this in no time, so it makes sense you didn't do it, but if you were to do his entire head and neck, and mess up/dirty up the hair it would go a long way to aid the realism. It's hard to give good judgement when we can see where the make up ends.

Keep it up, can't wait to see more!!!

Re: Zombie Test #1

Nice test. I was half expecting the zombie to stumble upon some hapless couple making out in the woods. Maybe next time. :D

Re: Zombie Test #1

Loved the shooting. Really nice comp and depth. The zombie make-up a good effort, but this may be a case of "less is more"

The recently deceased would look more like REALLY tired strung out living people. deep sunken eyes, sallow cheekbones. watch the discoloration next time. And remember....fx make-up only looks natural under controlled lighting. If you're doing a lot of day time location shooting, tone down the FX. Save the really bloody ones for time where you control the environment.

Keep it up...looks great.
