Zero budget DVX shot feature gets distribution deal!

Thnaks so much for the support guys, it's really great to hear.

Sanai, equipment wise I had the DVX, a Rode NTG-1 boom mic, Rode boom pole and a velbon photography tripod.

The tripod actually only just survived the shoot, by the end the pan arm was pretty finished and had kind of snapped off its thread! I can really strongly recomend the mic though, it's simply amazing and really did the jjob, it works really well with the DVX. Software wise I cut on Première Pro 2, this I came to regret in the later satges of post. The software just couldn't cope with the 40 hours of rushes, and by the end would take nearly 10 minutes to open the project! I had to invest in some more RAM which made it a little easier, but still far from ideal. Also, the sound designer was after OMF files for all the timelines, PP2 cant do those, so I had to make all the audio for him as wavs with handles, which was painful! I couldn't afford a mac when I needed one, but Final Cut Pro is really the best option in my opinion.

Pog, you bet Im making another film, we're half way through the script now!

Congrats on getting your 1st movie sold!

Any indication how much you got for this? Was it enough to pay off your expenses and have a budget for the next one?

Thank you all so much for the kind words and support! It's so nice to hear.

If any of you you get a chance to check out the film please let me know what you thought of it.

I seen this trailer a few weeks back... Where did I see it? I remember thinking this has the makings of a fine thriller, even though I didn't (still don't) know the storyline. I believe so much can be said with moving shots, almost more then words can adequately describe. Seen it in your clip...

Great to hear you're on your way.

Thanks a lot - I'm really glad it gives you hope! Its just great to know that footage shot with the DVX is taken seriously and that HD ins't an issue (I'm sure this will change in a few years though, unfortunately!)

I'm not allowed to advertise on here with where you can get it or prices etc, if you want specifics feel free to contact me through the film website. Since you ask, hopefully its safe to say on here it is widely available in the places you would normally expect!

Were you happy with the deal with your distributer? It's cool that you've got your film out there but is there any chance of making money?

We're talking to two distributers about our documentary going into HMV, so any advice would be great.
