"Carl Zeiss has announced that its CP.2 compact cine lenses with interchangeable mounts will become available for the Micro 4/3 and Sony Alpha systems. The already announced Nikon F mount versions will be available in the fourth quarter of 2010, the company says. In addition to the seven focal lengths already publicized, Zeiss says it will introduce a 50mm T2.1 macro lens and a 100mm T2.1 in the Nikon F mount."

I would think that is good news for the GH1.

I wonder if they will have some form of support for lens. Like HOTROD PL mount has. I'm looking forward to this.

Can't see why the wide would be any different; the lenses are, as far as I know, all the same and sold with an interchangeable mount. So this announcement doesn't have anything to do with the glass, but that the mount is being introduced for m4/3.

And yeah, the CP's are a tad heavy. It'd be nice to see a tripod socket on the mount.

Good to hear, though I'd also like to know whether there are any EOS to micro4/3 adapters aside from Birger since I don't need the AF/iris capabilities of that pricey mount. I'd also like to keep my CP.2 set with EF mount since I have Abel Cine recalibrate the entire set whenever I swap mounts, and I'd still like to interchange between my Canon DSLRs and AF100 once it arrives.

My understanding was that Birger Engineering only makes an EF to PL adapter currently. Perhaps they are the company that, as mentioned by Barry, is planning to release an EF to mFT adapter (with full electronic support) before AF-100's launch.

Here is an example of the mechanical EF to mFT adapter by Fotodiox

Thanks svecher, that's exactly what I'm looking for! $30 for an EOS>MFT makes me all the more happy for the AF100.
