I know some of you use them . I would like to find out more about them . How they work in video . There is a lot of positive comments on photography forums .
Frank Glencairn on his site wrote ;
The third type is called the “Zebra” and was made from 1963 to 1967 in large quantities. They are black with alternating bands of bright aluminum on the control rings. The “Zebra” medium format is the type you want.

In another forum I found out , there is fourth type marked "MC" and they recommended them over zebra

So, the best lenses to buy are those with an all-black body marked "MC", with or without the EE contacts, and without regard to "aus Jena" versus "Carl Zeiss Jena" or "Sonnar" versus "s", etc.

I understand benefit of MC and I think is better choice , but mayby there is something special with zebra what I did not find out yet ?

The MC glass is much better coated, so they look much more than modern glass.
The Zebras have almost no coating (regarding modern standards) thats why I prefer them.
They flare wonderfully, and give you a shoft-sharp image that is unique - not for every film and not everybody wants that, but I love the look they give.
It's elegant, organic and takes away much of the digital harshness (if that's what one is looking for).

What mounts are these available in and what adapters do you use to adapt them to the Sony E-mount.

I own two lenses...

Zeiss Tevidon Jena DDR f/2 10mm and a Zeiss Tevidon Jena f/2 18-90mm zoom. Both are C-mount and I do have a C-mount to Sony E-mount adapter. These lenses are 16mm but do look good. The Bokeh on the 18-90 is funky donut shaped, but it's cool.

I'll post some cool pictures I took in a min. I bought them for their very vintage and strange attributes, especially when I keep the vignette portholing on S35mm photographs I take. The image really falls apart on the image circle part that is outside of the intended 16mm area.

I'll post some images I took soon. I mostly freelens with the camera, so it's going to be quite experimental.

AHHHHH... I hate youz guys!!!! (Just kidding of course)... I was on glass cold turkey for a while, but have fallen off the wagon and have started to put together a set of Canon FD lenses... Now I really want some of these vintage Zeiss lenses... WHEN DOES IT END...AHHHHHHH!!!
