HPX250: Zebras to external monitor

I can't seem to be able to send my zebras to my external monitor. This is true with the sdi and hdmi connected. Does anybody know if this is normal or not? (monitor is the panasonic BT-LH910G)
 
Gack - wrong camera, sorry. Was thinking of the AC lineup. The HPX250 *can* actually output zebras, but only on the composite video output port. Sorry, my mistake.

But it cannot output zebras on the HDMI or SDI. Only on the "VIDEO OUT" port.
 
Barry, since I can't seem to get an answer from Panasonic.......do you know how to turn on the zebra function of the BT-LH910G monitor? The manual say's it's on by default from the factory(vf), but it's off and grayed out. Also, does this monitor have it's own zebra's or is this something else?
 
Don't really know, never used that monitor, but I would suspect that its zebras are related to when you use it as a camera viewfinder, not as a monitor. You can plug it into a camera's viewfinder output socket and I would bet that's when the zebra function becomes available.
 
You know, you could just hook up the monitor with two cables -- on to the HPX250's SDI output, and one to its video output, and toggle the monitor over to the video input when you want to see zebras...
 
That's exactly what I'm gonna do, just bought the cable and bnc connectors. Thanks for the insight Barry.
