Has anyone ever used this with their RR m2 and a external monitor?

http://www.zacuto.com/

I was thinking of buying this, but since I already have the baseplate system that comes with the M2 I figured I just had to buy a couple of peaces to make it shoulder mountable.

From what I can see all I need is:

Q-release
Z Grips
ZicroMount
ShoulderPad

Anyone with experience in this product ??

You may also need the lunch-box to use as a counter weight. I would call and talk to Steve or Becky.

Best regards,

Andrew Hoffman

i have a zacuto rig that i use with my brevis. if youre going to shoulder mount it youre also going to need a zamerican arm to mount your flipped monitor. here is a pic of my rig the day i got it:

it doesnt have the brevis attached in the photo - but it will show you the parts you'll need -

as much as i absolutely love, love, LOVE the zacuto products, i think their "lunchbox" is just too overpriced to justify. so you'll notice the extra red plate at the back of my rig. i just gaffer-tape a couple of 5lb weight plates to that and it does the counterbalance job for 1/20th of the price.

Very Nice. I see your shoulder pad is behind the camera. The set up I was going with has the shoulder pad under the camera. Is there a reason you didn't go that route??

And remember I am not getting their base plate as I already have RedRocks base plate. So it would just be a waste of money.

only reason is that i go from tripod to shoulder sometimes and just wanted to have it "quick-changeable" of sorts.

as a side note - and you may already know this, but you'll need the zacuto q-release if you want the pad to mount under the camera.

Yes, they did tell me that when I called. But better safe than sorry. Thanks for all the help and the info. You guys are great.

Does anyone know if the distance between the bars on the RedRock system is the same as the zacuto? I am trying to make sure that the z grip will fit.

This is what I mean distance between the two bars:
