How do you mount and unmount the camera? Seems like the plate that attaches to the tripod is underneath... does the camera mount come off the entire baseplate assembly?

The camera is mounted with a screw to the baseplate (you need a screw driver). Then, you attache the tripod plate to the base plate, and that is it... Hope that answers your question.

Ok... think so. So you can't remove the camera from the baseplate until you've removed the tripod plate, because it would be blocking access to the screw?

It depends on the size of the tripod plate and on where you mount the camera relative to the tripod plate. If the camera is mounted far back on the base plate and the tripod plate is mounted in front of the base plate (often the case with 35mm DOF adapter set ups), there should be enough room to access the camera mount screw.
I think that is the case with pretty much all the base plates because there usually isn't much of a need to mount/unmount the baseplate during a shoot. Once it is on, you leave it on...
