Me and my friends are starting a production company(weddings, corporate video, stuff like that). At this point we only have my limited amount of equipment (DVX100a, crappy tripod, lowel tota/omni light kit, Oktova Mk012). For a production company, we'll need more.
For now we wanted to do rentals. It'll make our prices a little higher, but it's really our only option at this point.

Has anyone rented from Zacuto? I like their prices. How's the service?

I work with them all the time. Quick response, detail oriented, fair pricing. They're great.

What insurance do you use?

I'm still trying to get how their insurance system works.
How much does it cost a month? How much damage does it cover? Etc.

I really like their prices though. :o

You want to shop around for that. The film/video insurance places are the most convenient and easy to deal with.. but you pay a premium for that.

I had a policy last year that was 1200 for the year. I paid it monthly. It covered a million general liability, and 60K in equipment. Also had panavision listed as an additionally insured...

Just got my new base plate and rails from Zacuto. Very Nice! Designed and built well, a little heavy, but supperior to anything else I've seen for DV.
