Has anyone heard anything from Zacuto on the status of their FS7 Loupe replacement? I thought they were coming out with a special version of the Z-finder for FS7 that will clip on and flip up. Was hoping for news about it from NAB, but nothing so far...

can't find it anywhere. My only issue with the Sony one is how quickly it fogs up

I think it was Josh Becker who posted a picture of the FS-7 Zacuto solution on his Facebook yesterday.

It looks like you have to buy the BMPCC Z-Finder and then the flip up part.

This is the problem with Facebook Groups- you can't link to the content, nor search it on facebook. Well, here's hoping the Z-finder+flip up part becomes available soon. Thanks for the leads.

I got confirmation from Zacuto last week that this part is still a few months away from production. I just put the Zacuto piece on my camera and have been really happy with the way it improves the balance of the whole rig. I think the flip up part will be essential however since I do toggle between looking at the screen and looking through eyepiece.

I think I can make a hinged mount in my shop, likely mostly printed on 3D printer. Any interest?

Very interested. The sooner the better. I have been waiting for the Zacuto flip up for my Z-finder, heard it would be months away though.

Using an eyepiece chamois greatly addresses that issue. They are only a few $ and make your rig look more Pro / Hollywoodish.

I am happy with the stock Fs7 loupe. I recently used a Alphatron but it would not allow me to dial the loupe to my aging eyes and there is no easy way to change the magnification element. On the Fs7 loupe you can easily swap out the element with a threaded diopter. +2, +4...whatever you need.

I've been looking on ebay for a used BMPCC Z-finder, may have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Once I've got one I can start designing a flip/clip.

I'm not sure, but you really should post your own thread about that, since we are talking about the Zacuto Z-finder.

Nice one. Will do this. Which eyepiece do you prefer, out of interest?
