FS7: Zacuto Axis Mini & FS7 Kit EVF?

I want to be able to move the FS7 VF further to the front of the camera, so I bought the Zacuto Axis Mini to replace the original arms that attach the kit VF to the camera. But now I can't figure out how to remove that part of the original arm that attaches to the VF itself. The Axis Mini has a rosette at that position, where the FS7 arm has something that also looks like a rosette.

Question: How do you detach the original arm from the VF?

(Sorry if this is confusing.)

You can buy the rosette adapter seperatly from zacuto its like 50 usd. Get the right size Ellen wrench for the screw on the EVF talk to zacuto they will walk you through it

Just be very careful with that screw the locking mechanism they holds the EVF was designed by Chinese Meth-heads and assembled in a North Korean Deathcamp

In the 3 photos below of the "Zacuto Axis Mini for FS7", you'll see that two of them show an additional attachment (circled in red) that seems to connect to the kit EVF. This extra attachment was not included in my B&H shipment. Have any of you ordered the Axis Mini and gotten this extra attachment, and made it work with the kit EVF?

In any case, the photo that shows the Axis Mini attached to the camera with EVF is what led me to believe it would work with the kit EVF.

Thanks for the tip. My Zacuto Axis Mini for FS7 did not come with that rosette to rod stud adapter which is needed to make it work with the stock VF. I can only use it as is, for my Gratical. Not sure what part # to ask for, but will check with Zacuto tech support.

I have the exact same one and all you have to do is use an Allen wrench to loosen the screw and remove the Sony rod and then put the Axis mini rod in that same slot, tighten screw, done.

I'm able to do that part, but it's how to attach the other end, the rosette, to the Sony kit EVF that throws me. I think I need that extra little attachment to make it work. I hope to call Zacuto today, and have them run me through it. Will post results. Thanks.

Chances are you didn't buy the designated FS7 Axis Mini but the normal one that doesn't have the attachment for the FS7 VF. Almost got that one wrong too.

EDIT: I see now it has already been discussed.

I did order the Axis Mini for FS7, but B&H left out that small attachment in their package. Will call them about resolving the oversight.
