Z2 rumored in July

Sonyhdvinfo - the site that broke news on the V1 coming out before anyone else, has this from the german website - slashcam (link from Juergen Hansen / translation courtesy Rolando - 'cuz I give credit where credit's due):

Sony answers to Panasoncic's AG-HVX 200 challenge with its HVR-Z2E, expected to be on the market in July. It should have a 20x changeable zoom lens 5.4 - 108 mm, size 16x20x38, wight 2600 grams. Filter size is 72 mm (as with the Z1). Clip resolution is 3x1700 000 pixels. Manual shutter speed 1/3 - 1/16'000 sec. Vertical resolution 611 LP, horizontal resolution 700 LP (up to now it was 486 LP), which will be optimal for the 16:9 format. The price will be around 7'500 Euros.

Personally, I think the HVX will still be the champ (because of it's film-look and I-frame recording) but for those of us that can't afford the P2 cards or deal with their time limitations (like myself, unfortunately) this is great news. Here's the links:

No mention of CMOS chips, 24P or...hmm HDV. If it is HDV, I hope they've at least got a new encoder.

I'm confused at the Euro thing. At the slashcam site they list the HVX at 7000 Euros. That's $9,182.60(?) but the HVX retails at $5995. And 7500 Euros is $9,838.50? Is my currency converter wacky?

Yeah...it's a german site. The second paragraph (in my original post) is the translation from the german site. You can put it through a translator yourself, but when I tried using Altra Vista, it did a poor job. I don't know which translator Rolando used but it did it better than Babel Fish.
