More than a year ago I posted a video using a ring light, shot with a PD-170. I decided to test my new Z1 and made the video again. Same music but a way better color correction. The kid, my brother, is now 4yo and can do better tricks.

Hope you like it.

do not SAVE TARGET AS. click on the link and there you can download the video or watch it.

Cheers!

Thanks guys!

as it was just a test, nothing professional, I could just hold it around the lens myself. dc, you´re right about not being leds, but it´s far from being a kinoflo too!

in fact, it´s the cheapest solution you can imagine, like this:

this 'ring light lighting' is not so easy to do. if you´re too close, you clip everything, if your subject is a little far from the ideal distance, the face begins to look like a special make-up for an horror movie. it could be so much better if my talent could just listen to me when i say to stay freeze.

Where did you buy it? and for how much? I've been looking at them for a while but they are so expensive.

dc, here in brazil you can find it in any hardware store. in fact, it´s very cheap.

rafa, thanks, man! i saw your works, the pics of it, and liked a LOT too!

I agree, it's a great effect, still!

The question being, what kind of ballast or connection did you use to run the juice to the 4-pin plug? Just assume we know nothing about electricity, nor the sorcery of making fire without flint or tinder!

fakeshapes, your link is broken. about the ballast and 4-pin connection, I just asked to the hardware guy and he suggested me. same cheap ballast and connection you can find anywhere.
