Z1 + Redrock = ???

Hey Guys n Gals,

we're shooting a spec commercial at the moment for a car company using a boxer as our subject. This this the first time we've used the Redrock M2 properly outside of running around the garden :) Some quick grabs (with quick CC) from a days shooting:

We're pleased with the results, only issue on the shoot was light loss, 4 redheads and a blonde and I was still using 9db gain on 100 shutter with a 1:1.4 50mm nikon :\

Regards,

Anthony

We had two Z1's at our disposal so everything was shot with 2 cams where possible, the NON adapter footage matches up very nicely with the adapter footage. Some of the shots work better due to the larger DOF.

Boxing - No Adapter

A nice surpise and demonstrates what is achievable with good lighting

Is the clip in your second post conformed to 24p? It doesn't look like it but still looks good.

Looks beautiful! How did you pan around the subject in the first clip? Very smooth. How did u slow down the footage and what rate? What was the shutter set at?

Hey Dusty, thanks for the feedback.

We panned around teh clip using a skater mini replica prototype we're working on.

It's got to have a few more mods, its being dropped 10-15mm, having a rocker plate fitted for mounting the camera, and then anonidized black to finish it off. But for now it provided a decent smooth track :)

The footage was just slowed down in FCP by 50% I believe. All of the footage is being transcoded to DVCProHD, and deinterlaced to 720p50 for some smooth progressive slow motion before being properly colour corrected. The adapter footage was shot at 100 shutter, the non adapter footage at 600, due to lightloss with the redrock M2 and lenses.
