Z1 Down-Convert Questions??

I just have a few questions about the Z1 model.

Is the down-convert as easy I think it is, meaning I could shoot in the HD mode all the time even when I don't plan to edit or work with HV footage, and when I import the footage it would convert intantly to what I've set my import setting to (DV PAL Anomorphic)?
This would interest me because I would down the line have stock HD on the original tape and not just DV, should I go back and what to work w/ it.

My second question is on the down-convert there is a letter box option for importing along with sqeeze and edge crop. Now importing HD on down-convert what would the best setting if I wanted a 16:9 image to work on every TV screen that my DVD was played?

Thanks A Lot!

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. I would suggest making 16:9 DVDs only, from 16x9 PA 1.2 (NTSC) or PA 1.42 (PAL). Ideally you attain these masters from software converted HDV as opposed to DV down-converts.
