This question may have come up already, but I'll ask it anyways.....

Do many film makers put up videos on youtube?

Try and get your work seen?

How do you deal with people on youtube whom are not so nice with their comments?

Is youtube useful in any way to a film maker and if so - how?

Thanks all

:)

Youtube is fine, but it's mainly for crap content. I always put my stuff up though. I mean I make my stuff for an audience, as do most filmmakers. So youtube is a natural place to post. Vimeo is also another, but Vimeo hardly gets the amount of viewers that youtube does.

Just be sure to delete bad comments if they bug you.

It's not like you'll get your stuff in the thousands, but if it's really good and funny, then maybe it'll get passed around on the net.

Yeah, I have a YouTube channel. I have always considered it to be more of a fun thing and have only posted some of my early guerrilla stuff and some new comedy kind of videos. My most viewed video, an underwater fetish fashion commercial, has over 15,000 views. YouTube is what it is. I mean, if you have a video, where else are you going to put it so it could be viewed from almost anywhere in the world? I guess you could set up a YouTube channel to show case your work, but I just never thought that this was necessary, since I try to get most of my work by personal networking. Of course, most folks these days are comfortable with going on line to check out every thing, so a YouTube channel as your showcase should be fine.

Here is the link to my YouTube channel. Like I said, it was put up for fun. Enjoy:

As far as critical posts on YouTube, well, I have noticed that the folks that put up nasty posts have not made anything better than I have, so, I just figured that they can suck my c*ck, and ignore them.
