Youtube video series - Michael Caine, "Acting in Film"

I see what you mean by the sync problems in video 3... it's still cool to be able to watch the whole thing though... :)

I bought the video at Samuel French a little while back. It looks a lot better on a television set, trust me...

Tom! Awesome. I saw this a kajillion years ago (before Netflix, Blockbuster Online, and Youtube) on one of those PBS fundraisers. You know, when they only show you the absolutely COOLEST stuff when they decide to PIMP their channel to raise money...at any rate. I LOVED it. Excellent link. It's excellent.

Here is another fantastic acting movie/tool. But its more geared towards THEATER and acting in general. It's incredible. It's called "Vanya on 42nd Street", starring Wallace Shawn, Julianne Moore etc. Here is the IMDB link. I didn't find any YOUTUBE links. But trust me, its awesome. They go from rehearsal to a performance and to see these seasoned pros reel you in with the voice, projection, tempo, interp etc etc. incredible stuff. LINK

Tom

I got the video too and think every actor should see that one! The man is spot on!!

ps...every new actor should watch this video. not only is it funny but darned if it does not show what it is like for 85% of all working actors. some folks i know who did work on the Sopranos helped the actress make it.

These clips are fantastic. I'll definetly show them to actors on the next film I direct.

What would normally take me a few days to teach to an inexperienced actor can be done in 60mins on youtube!

This would be great for any new actors to watch because whenever I work with people who have had little experience in acting for film, on the first few days they are either nervous of the camera or overact as if they are in a high energy theatre show and film is a completly different ball game.
