YouTube- Squeeze Mode

Please anyone...
Is it true that the best a DVX100b can do when shooting in 24P squeeze mode for YouTube is to upload a video with black masking on all sides? I know the camera is native 4x3 but I thought squeeze mode somehow gave me a full 16x9 formatted output?

Are there any settings on compressor (fcp 7) that can give me a proper 16x9 output that fills the YouTube window?


I am desperate as I am shooting tomorrow and am suddenly in doubt as to what format I should be shoot ing in?

Perhaps the only way is to uprez from a letterbox?
 
if you shot in squeez mode you're fine.
just edit as you would on FCP and upload it on youtube.
it will fill in the screen fully on youtube.
 
Thank you. I think I will soon post all my settings, capture, YouTube, compressor and everythging workflow because getting to the bottom of this took half a day!
In the end it formatted fine,
