Youtube HD???

Thats Awsome!

Thats Awsome!

That is ridiculous. I so want to know how that was done. HD quality I mean

Wow. That doesn't look like complete sh*t. :)

It seems like people found a way to trick the encoder, by bypassing it.

That's why the movie window keeps overestimating the duration of the clip.

A 1:30 VIDEO will say that it is 8 min long

There is no doubt that youtube, (in the future), will have to upgrade their compression and resolution. I don't think it will be long until we as a society demand it. But until then I predict you will see better quality videos from people trying to sell products, movies, or music. Those willing to pay youtube for the improved quality. Eventually I bet they will have some kind of youtube program of which we pay to become elite members and can upload HD.

Hey, youtube could just convert to HD for everyone, but I am willing there will be a transition where companies and members willing to pay money will have the ability first.

Yeah for YouTube, that looks excellent. Compared to the Apple trailers, it looks not so good but I would be curious if the studio made a special deal with YouTube or if they just figured out a hack? Because YouTube boxes you in with bad quality, there are really no options to make your stuff look even half this good. They say that the clip lasts 1:45 but the counter on the YouTube player shows eight minutes? So it's some sort of upload/encoding hack, I think.

nice. talk about a heavy stream though. that hancock teaser took forever to load on my end. then again i am on DSL so it's hard to tell if it's a heavy stream or my slow ass connection.

My site does the same stuff, but we're about to rollout the flash conversion bypass viewing FLV on h.264/acc encoded clips and play the native movie in the flash window....

here's a test file, you must have the most recent bundle of flash that came out a few days ago.

we're waiting for our custom flashplayer to be made to implement it on the site, then we'll be a step ahead of pootube in at least one aspect.

That's nice. What are the data rates on that clip you have there?

Vimeo > Pootube

looking real good steve, but on that test clip of mine the colors are ghosting. I know you have been working on it. (besides that, it looks great)

the normal current skateperception flash player is pretty damn good btw, but it'll be even sweeter once we'll be able to use the h264 and bypass flash

keep up the good work!

Nice! Now I just have to get my family videos to be shorter than 30min... hehe...

Doesn't YouTube own what you upload to it, or something like that?
