Youtube HD test - Better than Vimeo?

First... nice camera work on your video.

Second... it's about time but YouTube should default to show HD. Are they trying to cater to people still on dial-up?

Yeah man, it looks good as hell.... When did they start hosting HD?

Thanks!

They defaulted to widescreen this past week. The HD is still a hack. There's no "view in HD" button or anything. You need to upload a 720p file for it to work. Then you add &fmt=22 to the end of the link to see it at high quality. Sound is also stereo now too.

I'm actually thinking of just using Youtube to host my video contend for my site now. Quality is great and you can embed the files with the HD setting on. :D

I'm having a hard time seeing the difference now between vimeo and youtube HD. Can't wait to see who can beat both of them next :)

Is this also available for 25fps? Which in which file format did you upload?

I uploaded this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn1qXI9ZZT4 but the HD - trick does not work - uploaded as 720p mpeg file (123Mb).

Or does it take a long time until the HD-Version is convertet?

Yeah...the HD version take a little longer to process after you upload. Seems to be working now. I uploaded h.264, 24p with a bitrate of 10000. Overkill, but hey! :D

You tube HD plays smoother on my computer than Vimeo.

I can watch Youtube HD fullscreen with no problems... Vimeo i was getting 5 FPS.
