Your thoughts on a monitor?

I can not find this monitor on Gateway's website, should I be concerned?

Well, probably an out of production model. The only LCD tvs I found readily available on their web site now aren't even Gateway branded. Being an older model isn't necessarily bad of course, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy one at this point. Entry level 27-32" LCD tvs are definitely coming down in price. Check out newegg.com, walmart or microcenter.com for examples. If your primary use for this HD set is for an HVX200 that you might not have until early next year anyway, I'd recommend waiting a bit. There will probably be some really good specials on black friday and/or end of December. And maybe by waiting you can get additional funds in place and find a 1080P set, since pretty much all the low cost displays (OK, and most of the really expensive ones) are 720P.

General technology rule applies: if you don't need it right now, wait until you do. Price will come down and/or product will get better.
