Seriously, though, "Briscoe County, Jr." was one of my favorites, but that's TV.

Because it had at the helm one of the greatest actors of all time. The mighty Bruce Campbell... His new book is brilliant, by the way

I was just watching Tombstone the other day. That's such a great film. Val Kilmer os SO money.

"That's Latin, darlin'! It appears Mr. Ringo is an educated man. Now I really hate him!"

I love the old John Wayne movies.
"McClintock" might be predictable, but it's fun.
"rio Bravo" and "Rio Grande." Same script- different actors. Whaaaa? Still like em.
all I have to do is start singing "Chisuuuuumm, John Chisuuuum..." my wife runs screaming from the room. Ha. Also saw "The Cowboys" in the theater when I was about as old as those kids in the movie. Lasting impression.

Clint Eastwood- "Pale Rider" I thought was his first foray into what I like to think was a "authentic" look. "Unforgiven" is amazing.

I've seen "Open Range" a few times, and I have to say it's very under rated. Good western.

a classic- "The Big Country" with Gregory Peck.
"Dances With Wolves."
"Silverado"
"Tombstone"
"Hombre" with Paul Newman.
I saw "Jeremia Johnson" in the theaters when I was a little kid. Still love that movie.

Everyone has already mentioned my picks!

Unforgiven
Desperado
Once Upon a Time in the West
Leone / Eastwood series
Wild Bunch
Magnificent Seven
Ox-Bow Incident (Fonda rocked!)
The Quick and the Dead

It isn't a feature, but unquestionably the best thing to happen to westerns since Unforgiven is Deadwood. As I was growing up, I'd done a lot of research on that town and the various and sundry characters who drifted through there, and Deadwood just absolutely nails all of it in every aspect.
